Purpose and Meaning

Welcome to another episode in my Worldview series.  This episode, I discuss purpupose.  I propose that knowing our purpose and how it guides our thinking towards truth is important.  It is more than just an existential question.  It is practical too.  If we know our purpose then our vocation, relationships, and life all have meaning and therefore become clearer. The Beginning Makes a Difference

The answers to the questions of our universe’s origins and human beginnings will certainly make a difference in a Christian education.  Mainly, there is no need for a Christain education if there is no imprint of the creator in the content and skills being taught.  After all, Christian education is about ensuring the entirety of Truth is involved in the school’s program.  The vast majority of Christian schools are not afraid of variant theories.  Rather, the Christian educator knows that opposing views will not stand against the rigors of logic and investigation.  The truth will win out.  The Bible says,…

What is it to be Human?

  Today, I would like to discuss the nature of humans.  Our concept of humanity and the nature of humanity is exceptionally important.  If I truly believe that humans are made in the image of God, how should that affect my other areas of thinking?  If I think of humans as inherently tainted by sin, that has implications.  Whether God created humans in a special means and implies a purpose is a crucial understanding that has significant influence.   What about gender, sexuality, love, care, concern, worship?   How do I know my beliefs to be true?  Where can I…
